The Missing Fourteenth Floor
Public directories skip it. Deliveries, staff movements, a telephone extension and one scenery invoice do not.

Officially
Floor 14 is described in later explanations as service or mechanical infrastructure.
Kokushi now tells its own version at kokushicorporation.com. Read it. Then count how often it mentions any floor at all.
The problem
Internal delivery records reference desks, toner and personnel movement to 14.
The internal telephone directory lists every extension from 1101 to 1599 except one. EXT 1401 appears only in call logs, labelled 14F RESEARCH (UNLISTED).
Former employees variously describe observation suites, storage, a clinic, a records room and Human Engineering offices.
These accounts cannot all be true. Unless the floor was built to be described differently by everyone who saw it.
Getting there
EX-ER-88 insists Floor 14 was never reached from the main lifts. The executive lift at Reception had a fourteenth button that did not light. Staff called it the keyhole.

One source says it accepted a six-digit facilities code. Another says the code was simply the employee number followed by the floor.
The number 14 repeatedly intersects with Employee Monitoring and the Watanabe case.
The records room

Two separate accounts describe a records room on 14 with one wall of identical drawers. Every drawer the same size. Every label blank.
Neither source remembers opening one.
