The stupidest Kokushi story is also one of the most persistent: a company dog, an employee-style tag and a cigarette.

Photographs from several Kokushi facilities show a medium-sized dark-coated dog identified in captions as KAYA.

At least four disputed images appear to show a lit cigarette in its mouth.

The photographs span an implausible lifespan if they depict the same animal.

“PROJECT KAYA” appears once in a damaged Human Engineering index.

I do not know whether this refers to the dog.
